SOLIDWORKS Largest User Group Meeting Ever (SLUGME)

On November 13th, join SOLIDWORKS user groups from Boston, Central Massachusetts, and Rhode Island at SOLIDWORKS’ beautiful Waltham campus!

They’ll link up with dozens of additional user groups around the world for a live simulcast presentation by Neil Custard, one of the leaders in the SOLIDWORKS Community.

This free event will also feature the Battle of the VARs, a head-to-head-to-head presentation challenge between the three New England SOLIDWORKS resellers – Fisher/Unitech, SolidXperts, and Trimech. Each Value Added Reseller will showcase their best presenters, giving talks on their favorite topics, then you vote on New England VAR of the Year!

In addition to learning so much great new SOLIDWORKS content from these four excellent presentations, you’ll also have plenty of tie for networking with SWUG friends, and of course tons of Pizza and Prizes.

Heather Hasz from the DriveWorks team will be attending the meeting!

Presentation Topics

  • Render to Win: Visualize Tips & Tricks to Stand Out from the Competition by Chris Mowatt, Applications Engineer at TriMech.

As the overall winner of SOLIDWORKS’ first Visualize Rendering Contest for NAM resellers, Chris will demonstrate the tips and tricks he used to outperform the competition in each of the 3 stages of the contest. He’ll start by sharing the simple steps to achieve ultimate photorealism with Visualize, then introduce the best workflow to develop a winning product pitch presentation for investors and he’ll finish up by sharing his method for producing amazing and immersive VR output. Equipped with this information, attendees will be empowered to make the most of their Visualize projects and achieve success of their own.

  • What’s New in Review: SOLIDWORKS 2015 – 2019 by John Nolin, Senior Technical Representative at SolidXperts.

Functions, applications, tips and techniques you may have overlooked in the last few releases.

  • How Much PDM Do You Need? By Jenny Johnson, Elite Applications Enginner, PDM Project Manager and Solution Consultant at Fisher/Unitech.

This presentation is based around a “no sales” approach to PDM, to help you decide what you need. Jenny will go through what each product offers to solve the challenges an engineering company faces.

  • SOLIDWORKS Tips and Tricks You Need to Know – SLUGME Edition by Neil Custard of 3Di Design.

Picking up from fellow users, Neil has come up with a presentation on using tools to a deeper use. Neil will go deeper into some tools and go over some other tools that he doesn’t see used enough and should be used more.
