This is the fourth part of a five-part series, where we present the DriveWorks team’s predictions and look at how technology, society, and the way we live and work may change over the next 25 years.
Take a look at previous blogs in this series: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
Predictions for the next 25 years – Part 4
The DriveWorks team’s fourth set of predictions for the next 25 years:
1. Sustainable manufacturing
Over the next 25 years, manufacturing is likely to focus much more on being sustainable. Businesses will aim to use less energy, reduce waste, and reuse materials where possible.
2. The rise of automated warehousing
Automated warehousing will grow as businesses look to improve speed and efficiency. Robots, AI, and smart systems will handle tasks like picking, packing, and sorting with minimal human input.
3. Continuous product data feedback
Products will constantly feed back usage, sustainability, and failure data, driving constant design optimization of product design in real time.
4. Seamless integration of agentic AI in manufacturing
Agentic AI will become seamlessly integrated into design and manufacturing processes, streamlining workflows, improving quality, and driving efficiency.
5. The era of autonomous and advanced electric vehicles
Self-driving cars and vehicles powered by solid-state batteries are likely to become the standard. Autonomous cars will become safer and more efficient, and solid-state batteries will offer longer range, faster charging, and cheaper EVs.
