25 Predictions for the next 25 years – Part 1

What the DriveWorks team thinks the future holds

As we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, it felt like a good opportunity to look 25 years ahead.

So, we asked the DriveWorks team what they think the world will look like in 25 years. The result is a set of 25 predictions for the next 25 years, reflecting different viewpoints, experiences, and outlooks.

The changes we see will be actively shaped by all of us. And the way that we work, how we interact with technology, and how the world evolves over the next 25 years will create both new challenges and opportunities.

This is the first in a five-part series where we’re sharing the DriveWorks team’s predictions, exploring how technology, society, and the way we live and work could change over the next quarter of a century.

Predictions for the next 25 years – Part 1

The DriveWorks team’s first 5 predictions for the next 25 years:

1. Data-informed investment decisions

As people use AI more and more, forecasting will become easier, and businesses will be able to better predict their ROI from investing in software, machinery, etc. As a result, they will become less cautious about investments that will improve business efficiencies.

2. Sustainability accountability

Greater implications for larger companies that don’t comply with sustainability legislation. With an increasing lack of world resources, bigger penalties will be imposed on businesses that are not using their resources in a sustainable way.

3. The human angle

There will be a move away from “designed/made in (insert country name)” to “designed and built by humans”.

4. Tech you can wear

“Wearable” tech will get a lot more popular, with products such as Meta’s glasses and neural band, but better. “Never being offline” will take new heights for some.

5. Universities go quantum

Every university and large educational institution will have a quantum computer.
