A round-up of March DriveWorks Drivers
DriveWorks Drivers: Connecting a global community of DriveWorks users
Sharing technical know-how and practical experience informally with each other is something we know many people using DriveWorks like to do. DriveWorks Drivers provides a platform for this, connecting DriveWorks users from around the world. The meetings feature guest speakers sharing their experiences and encouraging questions and dialogue about the technology.
Last week, we hosted the March DriveWorks Drivers meeting. Thank you to everyone who joined us, with special thanks to our guest presenters. Here’s a round-up of what we covered.
Using DriveWorks to improve 3D preview performance

Josiah Dumitrescu, Technical Solutions Consultant at DriveWorks reseller, TPM, shared how Infinity Rack use DriveWorks, and how they have improved their 3D preview performance.
Infinity Rack manufacture custom pergolas, pavilions, carports, and charging stations, and modular building solutions. They use 3D visualization to enable customers to see their configurations, and wanted to speed up the loading time of their 3D models.
To achieve this, they made changes to their 3D documents, including the use of 3D extrusions, streamlined node structure, reduced texture file size, and removed redundant calculations. As a result, they reduced 3D preview load time from 15 seconds to under 5 seconds and improved overall visualization quality.
Showcasing DriveWorks technology with office games
Mark Van Dang & Josh Graham, Elite Applications Engineers at DriveWorks Reseller, Solid Solutions, shared how they built games for their office advent calendar using DriveWorks.
Using different features of DriveWorks technology, they built versions of Wordle & Snake for their colleagues to learn more about DriveWorks in a fun and interactive way. Their approach included planning out the games visually and using API call requests for dictionary checks.

The Final Ascent: Working in cycles – Tidying & technical debt
The Final Ascent segment was a deep-dive into tidying and technical debt, including adopting a cyclical mindset, process formality, different types of cycles, performance loops, and effective evaluation of technical debt.
This was a pre-recorded segment from DriveWorks Sherpa, Paul Gimbel, who sadly passed away last month. You can find the recording in the DriveWorks learning portal here.

The Paul Gimbel Award
In honor of DriveWorks Drivers host Paul Gimbel, we announced a new award that recognizes outstanding contributions to the DriveWorks Community – The Paul Gimbel Award for DriveWorks technical excellence and community spirit.
The award is for those who have consistently shared knowledge and provided selfless mentorship in and around DriveWorks-related topics and community values.
It will be presented each year to a recipient selected by a panel. Award recipients will be invited to join the panel for subsequent awards.
We encourage everyone to start thinking about who they might like to nominate, and we’ll share more news about the award over the next few weeks.
DriveWorks World 2026 preview
DriveWorks Head of Marketing, Jessica Taylor, shared agenda highlights for the upcoming DriveWorks World 2026. Starting on 14th April with an exclusive reseller preview, and continuing on April 15th and 16th for DriveWorks users and resellers, the event brings together the DriveWorks community for technical learning and networking.
Celebrating 25 years of DriveWorks
This year, we are celebrating 25 years of DriveWorks. From a CAD automation program in 2001, DriveWorks design automation, 3D product configurator, and CPQ for manufacturing solutions now make a difference for manufacturers all over the world. We shared a video of highlights from the last 25 years, and encouraged attendees to share their predictions for the next 25 years.
