The DriveWorks team has expanded from our single office 14 years ago, now we’ve filled The Barley Store at our Laskey Farm site and taken on more of the surrounding barns and out-buildings!
Of course DriveWorks wouldn’t be such a great place without the people that make up our team.
In this series of Meet The Team blogs, we’re introducing you to those people that make and shape our team.
Sarah joined us for a placement in her third year of university and she has been a member of the DriveWorks team ever since!
So, let’s meet Sarah…
I have the same birthday as my brother but we’re not twins. All of the cake sharing. None of the cool twin things!
Three words your friends would use to describe you:
What was your dream job when you were a child?
While some kids dreamed of being in space or taking up Batman’s mantle, I had other plans. I wanted to be… an accountant! – Yep, I was one of those wild kids.
Time at DriveWorks:
I studied Software Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University and as part of my third year took a placement at DriveWorks. During my placement I gained more experience and knowledge than I thought possible.
I was offered the opportunity to join the team as a full time member of DriveWorks after I finished uni and have been here ever since!
It’s been a lot of years but all excellent and I have had some great teachers to learn from along the way 🙂
Best thing you have done in your 6 years:
This has to be going to SOLIDWORKS World in February. It was great to meet some of our existing resellers and customers and put some names to faces.
As a developer it’s always fantastic to hear feedback and find out how people are using the software you write and this was a great opportunity for that!
What do you enjoy about DriveWorks?
The people, the place, the product. Everything really.
I love to learn and DriveWorks is ideal for that as we’re always looking into new technologies/frameworks and ways to make the product even better!
Favourite DriveWorks 12 feature:
I tend to work a lot on DriveWorks Live so one feature I really like is the Open Browser button that has been added inside of it. This allows you to select the host name you would like to view your site from and then opens that in your default browser. Not a massive feature but I think it’s a great usability enhancement and saves me some time!
Favourite overall DriveWorks feature:
I don’t think I can pick any one feature as it’s the combination of all of them that allows you to be able to automate basically anything, which is pretty awesome!
