June 2025 DriveWorks Drivers Meeting Round Up

Sharing technical know-how and practical experience informally with each other is something we know many people using DriveWorks like to do. DriveWorks Drivers provides a platform for this, connecting DriveWorks users from around the world. The meetings feature guest speakers sharing their experiences and encouraging questions and dialogue about the technology.

Last week, we hosted our June DriveWorks Drivers meeting. The meeting ran virtually at 3pm BST and 11am AEST. Hosting at different times has enabled our global community to join at a time that suits them.

We started the meetings with a quick recap of DriveWorks World 2025 and followed up with a review of the new Live Implementation feature. This included an interview with Phil Gilbanks, DriveWorks Key Account Manager & Implementation Consultant, who led the live implementation team. The AEST meeting included a presentation from DriveWorks customer, Waimea Group, who shared how they use DriveWorks, and the BST meeting ran an interview with DriveWorks reseller, Solid Solutions. And our regular Final Ascent segment set about demystifying specification flow security.

DriveWorks World 2025 recap

There are over 30 different DriveWorks World 2025 sessions now available in the learning portal. Each live session is available as a learning portal course. So, whatever your level of DriveWorks knowledge, and wherever you’re up to with your DriveWorks implementation, there’s a course for you.

To find the DriveWorks World 2025 live session recordings, from the menu select DriveWorks Pro – Events – DriveWorks World – DriveWorks World 2025 Live Stream Recordings. This will bring up the complete library of live session recordings. Alternatively, all of the courses are pre-fixed with ‘DWW-2025‘, so you can also search for a particular course that way.

DriveWorks World Live Implementation Catch Up

Phil Gilbanks, DriveWorks Key Account Manager & Implementation Consultant, led the team working on the live implementation at DriveWorks World 2025. This was a new feature that members of the DriveWorks team worked on throughout the event. They joined us live in the DriveWorks World studio at different points in their implementation process to share their progress and discuss how and why they had implemented specific features and functionality.

Phil shared his approach to planning for the implementation and managing a team with multiple implementers working together. His advice for effective implementation included having a clear roadmap to plan out your implementation steps and using document templates. You can try out the configurator built by the team on driveworkslive.com. You can also watch back the live implementation sessions in the DriveWorks learning portal under course ref: DWW-2025-42.

Drivers Customer Presentation: Waimea

At the AEST Drivers meeting, we were joined by Ira Dudley-Bestow from Waimea Group. Waimea Group manufactures custom vehicle-mounted specialist equipment, and they have built a CPQ solution using DriveWorks technology.

Their CPQ solution is used as a guided selling tool by their sales team to produce accurate quotes quickly. Ira provided insight into how they built their solution and the data flow with some of their other company systems.

Catch up with Solid Solutions

At the BST Drivers meeting, David Robertson and Paul Churm joined Bridie Mills to talk about DriveWorks, from their perspective as members of the DriveWorks reseller team at Solid Solutions (UK).

They shared their experience of seeing how DriveWorks has enabled innovation and scalability in the businesses they work with, with business efficiency being a key benefit. They also talked about how they use DriveWorks internally to configure training requirements, and how they and other team members regularly join DriveWorks Drivers and Tech Talks to keep their knowledge and skills up to date.

The Final Ascent – Demystifying specification flow security

DriveWorks Technical Expert, Paul Gimbel, talked us through the functionality in DriveWorks that allows you to control who can see and who can act on your specification flow. He covered the different states that your specification will run through, an overview of each specification flow state, and the importance of understanding when a specification is open or closed. This Final Ascent has been recorded and is available to watch back in the MyDriveWorks Learning Portal.
