This week we’ve hosted the DriveWorks Configure & Automate Summit. The event brought together an international group of delegates – resellers, product managers, and key account customers – to meet in-person, with the DriveWorks team at the Engine Rooms at Birchwood Park in Warrington, UK.
Both days started with a general session, with all of the delegates plus the DriveWorks team in attendance. The general sessions were followed by knowledge share sessions on a range of topics including DriveWorks solutions, training, sales strategies, integration, and lead generation.
This is the first time we have hosted an event like this. Whilst DriveWorks World is our virtual annual technical learning event, with hands-on learning sessions covering how to use different aspects of DriveWorks technology, the summit took a more collaborative approach. The focus was on strategy, with delegates discussing the future opportunities of design automation and configuration, making meaningful connections, and sharing ideas that will help drive our collective success going forward.
Here are some of the key highlights from the DriveWorks Configure & Automate Summit.
Exchanging insights
Having delegates together in person provided a great opportunity to exchange insights. Summit discussions between resellers, customers and members of the DriveWorks team were interactive, and engaging, with everyone valuing the chance to connect, share ideas, and discuss challenges and opportunities in the world of design automation, product configurator, and CPQ.

Customer strategies for success
We were very pleased to be joined at the summit by an international group of key account customers, some of whom took to the stage during General Session to share why their company uses DriveWorks and the success their business has had from using the technology. DriveWorks is used by manufacturing companies from a range of industries, and because DriveWorks technology is modular, scalable, and incredibly versatile, our customers use DriveWorks in many different ways, building design automation, product configurator, and CPQ solutions to suit their needs. Listening to customer success strategies from a range of different industries around the world was an effective way of understanding how DriveWorks technology fits into the changing needs of the manufacturing industry.
Highlights from the customer strategies for success included:
- Saving time – reducing product configuration time from 1 hour to 5 mins
- Handling complex custom product lines with more than 1.8 million products
- Supporting customer businesses in over 60 markets in more than 30 different languages
- DriveWorks integration capabilities being pivotal in realizing the value of the technology

- Including DriveWorks technology at new product development stage to ensure scalability
- Creating a more rewarding job for engineers, enabling them to solve problems and be more creative
- Reacting quickly to product enhancement requirements
- Improving communication between teams
DriveWorks HQ tour
On Monday evening, delegates joined the DriveWorks team at our headquarters in Thelwall, Warrington. The evening provided a great opportunity for everyone to socialize in a relaxed setting, have a look around our offices, and sample some traditional British food. It was the first time that some of the delegates had visited DriveWorks HQ, and it was great to be able to show them our offices so they could see where DriveWorks technology is developed.
