Bondura achieve significant time savings with DriveWorks

Configure, design, sell, and manufacture custom industrial components faster

Manufacturers of custom industrial components work in an increasingly complex market. Each order often requires tailored specs, custom designs, and tight lead times, making scalability, speed, and accuracy ongoing challenges. Industrial components manufacturers use DriveWorks design automation, 3D product configurator, and CPQ for manufacturing solutions to meet the demand for custom products without sacrificing efficiency or profitability.

Producing custom designs faster and with greater accuracy with DriveWorks

The challenge

Bondura Technology AS, with a worldwide distribution network, designs and manufactures bondura® expanding pins. For over 40 years, their proven pin technology has been used across a wide range of industries in both onshore and offshore markets. Their design process involved the duplication of models and drawings, which was slow and inefficient.

The solution

Bondura used DriveWorks Solo to build a configurator for their own custom products. Engineers input order-specific requirements, and documents and data are generated automatically.

They are continuously adding more product lines into their DriveWorks configurator. In the longer term, they will use DriveWorks to create an online catalog of their custom products for their sales team to generate order-specific models and drawings.

Added benefits

Bondura have seen multiple benefits from using DriveWorks Solo. Automating repetitive, manual design tasks has sped up their design process and removed the risk of manual error. With a streamlined design workflow, they can produce custom designs faster and with greater accuracy. Bondura design engineers now spend less time on mundane design tasks and have more time to work on new product development and innovation.

The biggest benefit of DriveWorks is the time we are saving. The significant time saved can be used for developing new products.

DriveWorks Solo – Powerful SOLIDWORKS® part, assembly, and drawing automation

DriveWorks Solo sits in the SOLIDWORKS® task pane, enabling engineers to configure custom products and automatically generate order-specific SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, and drawings.

Setting up DriveWorks Solo is quick and easy. Capture the parameters that engineers manually update in SOLIDWORKS, create forms to enter product requirements, and build rules to accurately calculate how the captured parameters should be updated.

There’s no need for complex macros, design tables, or code.
