New in DriveWorks 24
DriveWorks 24 is now available to download. This new release brings new features and functionality in the following areas: Design automation, DriveWorks 3D, scalability, usability and UI, SOLIDWORKS PDM integration, DriveWorks 3D, and a new paid-for module of DriveWorks Pro – the new CPQ Sales Portal.
New features and enhancements in DriveWorks 24
To deliver effective technology solutions, we research and actively listen to the DriveWorks community of users, including customers, resellers, and authorized partners, continually gathering feedback from enhancement requests and other community forums. Continually developing our technology drives us forward and ensures we deliver solutions for current and future engineering and manufacturing challenges.

Scalability
DriveWorks 24 introduces enhancements designed to support larger deployments and growing teams.
A new security model provides more granular control over user access to securable features, making it easier to manage complex roles across a business.
Additional developments, including the ability to upgrade a specification and how Autopilot is launched from a command prompt, all help organizations maintain and scale their design automation implementations more efficiently.
DriveWorks 3D
DriveWorks 3D continues to deliver more realistic, interactive, and high-performance visualizations.
New features include seamless world-position textures, drag-and-drop model interaction, enhanced material rendering, and advanced lighting effects such as sub-surface scattering and screen space reflections.
Combined with new appearances and decal management tools, these updates make it easier to create engaging 3D experiences for desktop and web users.
Usability and UI
A range of user experience enhancements make DriveWorks applications more intuitive and flexible.
New light and dark mode support helps user interfaces adapt to individual preferences, and URL-aware functionality improves support for modern web applications.
Additional updates to the Integration Theme, including grid views, customizable loading indicators, and enhanced specification history options, provide a user-friendly experience.
Design automation
DriveWorks 24 delivers new tools that make design automation projects easier to build, maintain, and evolve.
Enhanced specification upgrade capabilities help preserve data when projects change over time, and new navigation, URL management, and automation tasks provide greater flexibility when building complex workflows.
SOLIDWORKS PDM integration
Enhancements to SOLIDWORKS PDM integration make it easier to connect design automation with managed engineering data.
Improved access to PDM files and folder information, together with expanded metadata management capabilities, helps ensure that accurate data is available throughout the configuration and automation process.
New DriveWorks CPQ Sales Portal
The DriveWorks CPQ Sales Portal is a new paid-for module in DriveWorks Pro that helps you streamline sales processes. CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) enables faster, more accurate quote generation, improved customer experiences, and increased sales efficiency.
With the new DriveWorks CPQ Sales Portal module in DriveWorks 24, you can:
- Apply multi-level permissions to manage user access
- Create and manage custom quotations from a new web-based portal
- Integrate DriveWorks configurators to configure same but different products
- Automatically trigger the generation of manufacturing data and documentation

DriveWorks resellers, partners, and customers with an active subscription can download DriveWorks 24 from the MyDriveWorks Community now.

You can create an account if you don’t have one, or reset your password if you’ve forgotten it.

Your DriveWorks 24 license codes
Your DriveWorks 24 license codes are available in the Manage your organization portal in MyDriveWorks.
Downloading, installing, and licensing each of the DriveWorks Pro software modules is part of our own internal testing process. As you would expect from an established software company like DriveWorks, we employ a robust testing strategy, with a focus on the security and usability of our users.
Measures such as our verified publisher code signing certificate are designed to give you peace of mind and assurance that the DriveWorks software you are downloading is secure and safe.
Important information
We have tested the updates rigorously across Windows operating systems and the latest versions of SOLIDWORKS® to test compatibility.
Supported versions
- SOLIDWORKS 2024, 2025, and 2026 are fully supported.
- Microsoft Windows 11 is fully supported.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 are fully supported.
Before you upgrade
- As with any upgrade, remember to take a back up of your data.
- The download should take no more than 30 minutes.
- If you are working in a multi-user environment, make sure you upgrade all of the DriveWorks modules, for example DriveWorks Administrator, Autopilot, any DriveWorks User licenses, DriveWorks Live, and DriveWorks Pro Server.
- Make sure you have your DriveWorks 24 license codes to hand. We issue new license codes for each new major release so you can get to know the new functionality and test it before you use it in production.
DriveWorks 24 SP0 information
- If you have been using DriveWorks 23 Pro Server to see the new DriveWorks 24 Pro Server features, you may need to clear your browser’s cached files. To confirm if this is required, access DriveWorks Pro Server in an Incognito or InPrivate browser. If this displays the new features correctly, clear the cache by pressing Ctrl + F5 when on the Pro Server site.
- The CPQ DriveApp for DriveWorks 24 is required to be downloaded separately from the plugins page in MyDriveWorks.
- From DriveWorks 24 onwards, the Autopilot log displays a warning when the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional plugin Logging Verbosity is set to Diagnostic. Diagnostic verbosity is not recommended in a production environment unless diagnosing a specific issue.
- Information published for DriveWorks 23 SP0, SP1, and SP2 is still relevant for this release. Please review it alongside the DriveWorks 24 SP0 information.
