ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH is known for system solutions in the industrial housing sector and stands for the highest quality, flexibility and reliability. ROSE housing solutions can be found in mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive sector, traffic and automation technology, measurement and control technology as well as the food and beverage industry. Founded in 1969, ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH has evolved and expanded, launching operations in Hungary and India and joining the global technology company Phoenix Mecano.
Before Implementing DriveWorks
Manually modelling each custom housing in SOLIDWORKS to create production drawings was time-consuming. To cope with the variety of variants quickly and above all correctly, an automation solution had to be found to support the designers in the creation of standardised manufacturing drawings, and to optimise the engineering process.
To keep up with company growth whilst maintaining high standards and the shortest delivery times possible, ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH identified the need to optimise company processes.

SOLIDWORKS Production Drawing Automatically Generated
The selected components and defined options are used to automatically generate the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD models and drawings. This removes the risk of manual input errors as the order moves from sales through to manufacturing.Native integration with SOLIDWORKS PDM allows data generated by DriveWorks to be automatically checked in for smooth data management.
The modular nature of DriveWorks also makes it easy to add new product lines whilst existing configurators continue to be used, enabling the automation of new products.
Boosting Team Productivity
ROSE chose to utiliseDriveWorks Autopilotto automatically generate the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD models and drawings on a separate server. This has allowed designers to work on separate projects in parallel, boosting team productivity.
Streamlining Order Process
Using the intuitive DriveWorksform designer, the ROSE team built a custom User Interface (UI) to input product requirements. Rules set by the designers guide users through the product configuration, only displaying valid options. This ensures configured products can be manufactured, streamlining the order process and minimising errors.
In the future, we plan to use DriveWorks as a sales tool as well, our customers should have the opportunity to configure housings by themselves using a web application
