We’re attending and sponsoring the Warrington Business Conference 2024.
This is the 5th annual event, and the 5th year that the DriveWorks team have taken part. The annual conference is the largest in Warrington, with over 200 guests looking for inspiration from successful businesses, political backing from local MPs and government support from the Business Minister. Cineworld will once again host the event, utilising the Dolby Atmos technology of its Super Screen theatre. The Botanist will then welcome guests for lunch in its award winning restaurant, all within the Council’s £142 million Time Square development.
This year, the theme of the event is “Brand Warrington” highlighting the importance of a strong brand for business. The event will feature local companies with international success, and highlight the importance of place marketing to support a successful business culture.
We’ll be there alongside other global brands Hoover, Greenall’s and Eddie Stobart, all of whom also have a major presence in Warrington.
Delivery partners for the event include Warrington & Co, the economic regeneration arm of Warrington Borough Council, networking organisation, the Business Exchange and the local Chamber of Commerce.
John Laverick, Managing Director of Warrington & Co, commented:
“The Business Conference is a great opportunity to showcase the many success stories we have across the town. I’m especially interested in hearing how Greenall’s manages to keep the brand fresh after nearly 300 years.”
Chief Executive of Warrington Chamber of Commerce, Stephen Fitzsimons, added:
“This is the fifth time we have organised this event and it’s really reassuring to see the private and public sector working in partnership to make the town an attractive location for international companies.”
DriveWorks in Warrington
Warrington has been the home of DriveWorks for over 18 years.
Warrington provides a great base for our business – we are well connected in terms of networks and initiatives that connect businesses with each other, and with other organisations and schools. We’re also well-connected in terms of location. Our location makes it easy for our visitors from far and wide to find us and for travelling to and from the office ourselves, without getting caught in the city traffic.
In recent years, Warrington has ranked in the UK’s top 20 destinations for high-growth technology businesses. We are proud to be developing our award-winning software in Warrington, and we’re proud of the way we use technology ourselves to run our business. Our international success is driven by a network of over 100 value-added resellers in 54 countries, complemented by key team members positioned in strategic global locations. With effective use of technology, we reduce unnecessary travel while maintaining strong international connections.
In 2018, we received two local High Sheriff Awards, for Innovation and Export. Then in 2019, we were honoured to be awarded two Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the highest accolade available to UK businesses. The Queen’s Awards recognise businesses for outstanding achievement and we were recognized for Innovation and for International Trade.
Maria Sarkar MBE, our Co-founder and VP is an Export Champion with the UK Government Department for Business & Trade. Maria is passionate about exporting and always willing to share her insights on selling globally, to help SMEs on their exporting journey.
In previous years our team has also presented at the Warrington Business Conference, sharing our story of selling globally from our HQ in Warrington. We shared our thoughts on why Warrington is a great place to run a global company and highlighted how companies can use digital technologies to do more with less, increase sales and reach new markets. We also shared how DriveWorks software enables companies around the world to have an online presence, opening up new opportunities and new markets for businesses large and small.
We’re looking forward to this year’s event, to learn more about the other companies selling globally in Warrington.
