DriveWorks BoM Plugins

Every Thursday the DriveWorks Tech Team share their knowledge and expertise in these 30 minute value added webinars exclusively for DriveWorks Reseller AEs and DriveWorks Pro customers on subscription support.

On Thursday, April 14th, DriveWorks Applications Engineer, Karl will be looking at the DriveWorks BoM to Excel and BoM to Database Plugins.

Our Bill of Materials (BoM) Plugins enable you to export your Bill of Materials information from SOLIDWORKS into an Excel document or a Database. This prevents you from having to manually type all of the required information into an ERP system, which would be time consuming and could potentially result in errors.

To help you understand the DriveWorks BoM plugins and how to use them, Karl will cover:

• Explaining what the BoM Plugins are
• How to download and install the BoM Plugins
• How to set them up and the options available
• Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) set up for exporting the BoM to an SQL Server
• The generated BoM in both Excel and an SQL Server and how options change the outputted BoM

The DriveWorks BoM plugins are very useful if you need to send a BoM to your production or parts departments. These plugins also allow you to circulate the BoM data elsewhere if it has been passed to a database.

After setting up the plugin, DriveWorks can generate a BoM for every generated customized model within seconds. Implementing this Plugin into your current DriveWorks Projects could help to make your business more efficient and throughout this webinar, Karl will show you how to do this and what you can achieve.
