Using Magnetic Mates and Layout Mode in DriveWorks Solo

Every Thursday the DriveWorks Tech Team share their knowledge and expertise in these 30 minute value added webinars exclusively for DriveWorks Reseller AEs and DriveWorks Pro customers on subscription support.

On Thursday, October 12th, DriveWorks Applications Engineer, Thomas will be sharing his knowledge about a short video we produced. It demonstrated how SOLIDWORKS Magnetic Mates and DriveWorks Solo Layout Mode work together.

In the video we automated our Conveyor Layout demo by creating new conveyor sections and modifying existing sections. We then snapped all of the sections together using the SOLIDWORKS Magnetic Mates technology.

In this webinar Thomas, an Applications Engineer, will show you in detail how we created this demo and what’s involved when using SOLIDWORKS Magnetic Mates and DriveWorks Solo Layout Mode.

To show you what can be achieved, Thomas will cover:
• How the demo works.
• How to set up the project.
• Master Models and Magnetic Mates.
• Model Rules and how they work.
• A demonstration of the project in action.

No matter which stage you’re at with your DriveWorks project, this webinar will be beneficial to you.

Magnetic Mates are a SOLIDWORKS feature that can be really useful when used alongside DriveWorks Solo Layout mode.

We’ll show you how we created the same Magnetic Mates system for all of the conveyor section types and how we moved the geometry around. This enabled us to swap conveyor section types without breaking mates.

Join Thomas to learn more and pick up some tips on implementing SOLIDWORKS magnetic mates in your own DriveWorks projects!

We welcome questions throughout and after the webinar.

The webinar will take place at 4pm BST on Thursday, October 12th.
