Meet The Team: Jake – Our Internal DriveWorks Projects Whizz
Get to know the team behind DriveWorks.
The DriveWorks team is rapidly growing, from being a small three man team 14 years ago, we are now outgrowing the biggest building on our Laskey Farm site and moving into the smaller surrounding buildings!
DriveWorks wouldn’t be such a great place without the people that make up our team.
In this series of Meet The Team blogs, you’ll meet the people behind our company, including lots of new team members joining us very soon…
Next to give their story is Jake, who is automating the whole of DriveWorks one project at a time.
Jake works on all of the DriveWorks projects we use internally at DriveWorks. From booking holidays and ordering uniform to generating license codes and managing the DriveWorks community, Jake has automated it.
He also helps to create plugins to help DriveWorks integrate well with other company systems.
So, let’s meet Jake…
I watch my local football team, Altrincham FC. They currently play in the Conference Premier, which is the division below League 2. I try to go to as many matches as possible.
My last away trip was a 10 hour round drive to Welling United.
Everyone here thinks I am a bit mad, but I say its passion!
Watching Alty FC, playing football, playing squash, coding
How you ended up at DriveWorks:
I am here as part of my supervised work placement while I am studying towards my Computer Science degree at the University of Huddersfield. I saw the placement advertised in my schools placement office. The company and position on offer looked amazing, so I threw my name in the hat too.
What do you enjoy about DriveWorks?
The DriveWorks offices are amazing, and provide a pleasant environment to work in.
“Sorry to any Macclesfield Town fans reading this post – it’s nothing personal!”
Favourite DriveWorks 12 feature:
Calculation tables! I think we are really just beginning to realise the power of this feature. Recently I have been experimenting with them to perform some statistical analysis on large data sets.
I think there is a massive opportunity here to use the feature to calculate all sorts of things, such as form layouts, financial information, and even automated planning for customer configurations. I can’t wait to hear how our customers are using them.
