Steiner Technologies produces a family of automatic back boring tools called the Autofacer速. They have been using DriveWorks since 2010. In a recent blog post, they explained how DriveWorks has significantly improved their processes to make them faster, better and more cost-efficient. Like many other manufacturing companies, Steiner Technologies have found implementing design automation to be a ‘game changer’ for them and have seen the benefits go beyond their internal operations.
“The investment in SOLIDWORKS and DriveWorks has been a valuable one for Steiner. We couldnt be more excited about what it means for our customers as well as the manufacturing community at large.”
“DriveWorks enables engineers to automate and standardize the tool design process, presenting real potential for a streamlined design process and a higher-quality product in the end.”
“Simply put, using DriveWorks design automation software has been a game-changer for us. The software offers distinct advantages that manufacturers at every level can benefit from.”
There are many ways to see how you could also benefit from implementing design automation.
Our free product, DriveWorksXpress is included in every license of SOLIDWORKS, providint entry-level design automation.
Youll find DriveWorksXpress under the SOLIDWORKS Tools menu, all you need to do is activate it.
Use DriveWorks Solo to reduce the cost of custom designs, respond quickly to sales enquiries, enhance product quality & reduce repetitive tasks.
You can download and try DriveWorks Solo free for 30 days at www.driveworkssolo.com.
Configure, price and quote the easy way with an impressive online product configurator that enables anyone to configure custom products in 3D on any device.

In the world of manufacturing, we tend to think in terms of faster, better and more cost-efficient. So when we find ways to significantly improve any one of these factors, well its exciting. Thats how I would describe our experience in using DriveWorks design automation software. Simply put, its been a game-changer for us. In addition, the implementation of a design automation process has had benefits that go beyond our internal operations here at Steiner. The software offers distinct advantages that manufacturers at every level can benefit from. In this blog, well take a quick look at what the software does and some of the key benefits.
DriveWorks design automation software works in tandem with the very popular SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling and design software package. SOLIDWORKS is used to design just about any custom product with a wide range of features and functionality. It provides a platform for designing parts, assemblies and drawings, giving manufacturers an impressive ability to visualize product designs upfront. DriveWorks enables engineers to automate and standardize the tool design process (As an example, Steiner uses both SOLIDWORKS and DriveWorks for its back counterboring tools.) Its the combination of these two types of software that presents real potential for a streamlined design process and a higher-quality product in the end.
For companies who create custom tooling solutions, and for manufacturing engineers who integrate those solutions into their processes, 3D modeling software and automation software adds value in the following ways:
So far, the investment in SOLIDWORKS and DriveWorks has been a valuable one for Steiner. We couldnt be more excited about what it means for our customers as well as the manufacturing community at large and I hope this blog helps you think about how your operations can benefit from it as well. March 31st 2017 marked the end of the 3rd DriveWorks Continual Professional Development Program. This year was more popular than ever with DriveWorks Resellers and Partners from around the world taking part to maintain their certification and compete for prizes.
The DriveWorks CPD Program is our way of incentivising our Resellers and Partners to continue learning about DriveWorks. Supporting customers, presenting about DriveWorks, creating a short how-to video and even watching webinars are worth CPD points. To earn their first prize, and to maintain Certified DriveWorks Professional (CDWP) status, resellers and partners must earn 100 points.
Each year there are quarterly prizes for the most points and an annual podium with prizes for the people in first, second and third place.
So now to announce the winners for 2017.
Firstly, the person with the most points for this quarter:
Jodi Degenaer from Fisher Unitech
Jodi has chosen a Raspberry Pi Starter kit as her prize!
Next, the annual prizes.
In Third Place:
Christophe Demuynck from Visativ
Christophe will be receiving an Amazon Gift Card for 120
Second Place went to:
Alexandre Salmon, also from Visiativ
Alexandre will be receiving a Sonos speaker
And the 2016/17 winner of the DriveWorks CPD Program was:
Lee Herron from Javelin Technologies
Lee received his prize back in March as we flew him to Atlanta for DriveWorks World 2017!
Thank you to everyone who took part, well done for all of your hard work and congratulations to those who won prizes throughout the year. Good luck for next year!
