What’s on the Agenda?

6:30pm – 7:20pm: Propert Tab Builder – presented by Jacob Huckins, ONSWUG President Overview.
Are you using custom properties to the fullest potential? Are you looking for better ways to get custom properties into your parts and assemblies? Have you used the Custom Property Tab Builder? After the presentation, we can open this up for a discussion.
7:20pm – 7:50pm: Open discussion – there might be a few surprises here but let’s plan on spending some time talkimg about SOLIDWORKS issues, modeling issues and random tech tips.

Heather Hasz from the DriveWorks team will present about DriveWorksXpress- the free design automation tool included in every licence of SOLIDWORKS. She will also tell attendees about the free DriveWorksXpress Training and Certification program and the benefits of becoming a Certified DriveWorksXpress Associate.

Earl Hasz from the SOLIDWORKS team will then present about ‘Brewing with Electricity – the SOLIDWORKS Electric Brewery’. Earl will discuss home brewing and how he’s taken a hobby and applied it to his day job at SOLIDWORKS.

Connecticut SOLIDWORKS User Group (ConnSWUG)

What’s on the Agenda?

“Our next meeting will be June 14th, Flag Day, at Mastercam HQ in Tolland CT. This meeting is our marquee meeting of the year. There will be tours of the machine shop that start at 5 pm.

Dinner is provided after (or before your tour) all courtesy of our gracious host Mastercam, followed by two presentations that will start promptly at 6:30 pm.

The first presentation will be a look at Women in Engineering & Manufacturing. Our three guests, Pauline Menoret – UConn Formula SAE President, Marie Planchard – Education, Early Development, Women in Engineering at SOLIDWORKS, and Meghan West – President and CEO of CNC Software, Inc., will share their experiences as well as their journey.

Our second presentation will be by Pauline Menoret – UConn Formula SAE President and Chad Chmura – Applications Engineer at CNC Software. Pauline will display her SOLIDWORKS skills as well as challenges the team discovered, designing parts, and assemblies for the UConn formula race car. Chad will talk about the challenges he faced using the FSAE CAD files inside of Mastercam for SOLIDWORKS.

I’ll tease you with this…there could be some super cool race car parts to witness and maybe the FSAE car will be there as well :)” – Ed and Paul of CONNSWUG.

What’s on the Agenda?

“The NEOSWUG summer cookout is back!! This seems to have become our signature event and we believe we have another great meeting planned for everyone. As always, we will provide all of the hamburgers, hot dogs and bratwurst, as well as the cheese and all condiments. All we ask is that you bring a side dish to share with the group. We have had some great sides in the past, and we are excited to see what this year will bring.

Along with the great summer food, we have another lineup of great presenters. We will be joined by Rob Jost, a Product Definition Manager for SOLIDWORKS, as well as Ed Gebo of Digital Detail & Design. Ed is also the Eastern US representative for the SOLIDWORKS User Group Network Committee.

Presentation topics are still being determined, so keep your eyes on your inbox and the NEOSWUG forum page.
